In many situations, keyboard shortcuts that involve the Alt key in Windows use the Option key on the Mac.

This is the closest thing the Mac offers to the Windows Alt key. On North American Mac keyboards, a key on the bottom row is labeled both Alt and Option. When you select a cell and hit F4, your last action will be repeated. Unless the program has unsaved changes, pressing Alt + F4 closes the window with no warning. If no programs are open or you are at the desktop, pressing Alt + F4 opens the Shutdown window. The layout is the same regardless of what your button is called. Each Alt button is next to Cmd (or ⌘), which sits on either side of your space bar. Your computer has two of these buttons, both toward the bottom of your keyboard.
